The Depository Trust and Clearing Corporation (DTCC) secured a pivotal no-action letter from the SEC, authorizing its subsidiary DTC to tokenize Russell 1000 stocks, ETFs, and Treasury bonds. Launching in late 2026, the initiative will operate on pre-approved blockchains for three years, maintaining traditional ownership rights while bridging TradFi and DeFi.

This decision underscores Chair Paul Atkins' progressive stance on blockchain infrastructure. Analysts project the real-world asset tokenization market could unlock $400 trillion in traditional finance, with tokenized assets potentially hitting $16 trillion by 2030.
